The recovery process after nose surgery is just as important as the surgery itself. Here's a week-by-week guide to what to expect after rhinoplasty.
The recovery process after rhinoplasty is just as important as the operation itself. Op. Dr. Emine Şakalar provides each patient with detailed information and written instructions about the post-operative process.
After surgery, packing is placed inside the nose and a cast or splint is applied on top. The first few hours are spent under observation. Since the nose is blocked, breathing is done through the mouth.
What to do:
In the first week, you will see bruising and swelling at their most intense. This is completely normal. Bruising and swelling peak on days 2–3. Packing and splint are removed on days 5–7.
Bruising is largely gone. Swelling is still present but gradually improving. Light work can be resumed.
Most bruising has cleared. Light social activities and light exercise can begin.
Your nose shape gradually becomes more defined. Remaining swelling slowly subsides. Monthly check-ups continue.
You need to wait 6–12 months to see the final result of rhinoplasty. Swelling in the tip area is the last to resolve.
Op. Dr. Emine Şakalar Clinic supports you at every stage of your recovery process after surgery. Routine post-operative check-ups are scheduled.
